Murray's Playhouse in the Park presents "Grace and Glorie" the next two weekends. Cast members Vicki Morton and Marci Jo Gardner-Edmonds and Director Rusty Jones visit Sounds Good with a glimpse into the story of what the volunteer hospice counselor from New York and the feisty old cancer victim of the Blue Grass Mountains learn together.
Description from Playhouse in the Park's website:
In this charmer set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Grace, a feisty 90 year-old cancer patient, has checked out of the hospital and returned to her beloved homestead cottage to die alone. Her volunteer hospice worker, Glorie, is a Harvard MBA recently transplanted to this rural backwater from New York. Glorie is tense, unhappy and guilt-ridden. As she attempts to care for and comfort the cantankerous Grace, the sophisticated Glorie gains a new perspective on life.
"I felt a kinship and I love playing an older person... I love taking on that character, getting into the physical part of it and changing my voice." - Vicki Morton on playing Grace
