'Legally Blonde the Musical' Opens This Weekend at Murray's Playhouse in the Park

Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by pink storm in an upbeat musical comedy about self-discovery in Legally Blonde the Musical, opening at Murray's Playhouse in the Park this week. Kate Lochte practices "The Bend and Snap" with director Josh Byrn and "Paulette" played by Joanne Guns on Sounds Good.

Based on the movie, Legally Blonde, the plot centers around Elle Woods, who appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down when her boyfriend dumps her so that he can attend Harvard Law School. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into the school, where she realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

The show runs weekends, Friday - Sunday, from October 24 - November 9. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
