[Audio] Yeiser Art Center Hosts Holiday Tour of Homes, This Weekend

Yeiser Holiday Home and Gallery Tours, Facebook

The Holiday Home and Gallery Tour is the Yeiser Art Center's biggest fundraiser, this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Paducah. New this year are the galleries in LowerTown open to tour to see artists working in their studios. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with Lindsey Maestri, Executive Director for the Yeiser Art Center and event coordinator Ashlea McMillan about the event.

The tour begins at Yeiser Art Center and the first property on the tour is a bed and breakfast across the street. From there, you can either follow the route or pick and choose the locations you'd like to visit. Along the way you may encounter carolers, the Paducah Symphony Youth Chorus and Orchestra, magic tricks, roast marshmallows and roasted chestnuts. The event is also on Small Business Saturday, so local businesses will be open as well.

With 20 properties in total, the entire tour would take approximately three hours. A free trolley will also be taking people back and forth from downtown to LowerTown each hour, with stops along the way. The Member Show will also be open in the gallery.

See homes decorated for Christmas. The criteria for each home on the tour is to have something exceptional about it. Homes include a b'n'b recently restored, an 1880s mansion with an extensive antique collection and condos in LowerTown.

Proceeds go to educational programming and exhibition. Tickets are available at the Yeiser Art Center. Call ahead at 270-442-2453 or go online to theyeiser.org. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event.
