A Murray State alumnus and former Paducah resident is providing the English voice for a Japanese icon in a series of films.

Daniel Van Thomas has been cast as the voice of Ultraman Zero, in the English language versions of the continuing live-action film series.

The Ultraman franchise has been around for 50 years, first as a television show then moving to novels, mangas and video games.

Van Thomas has also appeared in the locally-produced horror western, Revelation Trail, and provided his voice to the popular video game, Red Dead Redemption. In a Facebook post, Van Thomas said his Ultraman movies will be available in the U.S. soon.

Van Thomas graduated Murray State in 2007 and Lone Oak High School in 2003.

John Null is the host and creator of Left of the Dial. From 2013-2016, he also served as a reporter in the WKMS newsroom.
