Underwriter Spotlight: Baptist Health Paducah

This month, WKMS is pleased to recognize long-time underwriters Baptist Health Paducah. Whether or not you have received care from the hospital, you probably have heard about "The Pink Glove Dance," "Spokes for Strokes" or even the "Stuff the Truck" - all supporting community well-being.

Regional Marketing and PR Director Dona Rains says that Baptist Health Paducah underwrites programming on WKMS "...as part of its mission to improve the health of our communities. When we enrich the mind, body and spirit of our people, we improve our communities. WKMS not only educates and informs, but also its programming has extra benefits. It has been proven that listening to classical music can boost your mood and even lower your blood pressure, and you don't even need a prescription. That's just another good reason to turn up the radio!"

Baptist Health Paducah is always on the alert for ways to improve the health of their neighbors, starting with students. They lead the fight against childhood obesity, awarding $16,500 for Project Fit America this year to a sixth school in our region, Benton Elementary. The hospital foundation also partnered with Kohl's Department Store to promote good health with more than 800 sixth-graders at a health carnival.

Thousands of people in our region benefit from the free screenings and education events, as well as free advice from their call center nurses at 270.575.2918. These programs carry out the Baptist Health Paducah mission to enhance the health of all communities they are privileged to serve.
