No agreement was reached today between Honeywell and union officials.
Honeywell Representative Peter Dalpe says that company negotiators had turned down the United Steelworker Union's last contract proposal saying that it would be detrimental to the competitiveness of the site.
Dalpe says the company sent a new contract proposal to the union today. Around 3pm, the union informed the company that it was still working on proposals.
Talks will resume tomorrow as scheduled.

Negotiations between plant and union officials are set to resume today and tomorrow at the Metropolis Honeywell Uranium Conversion Plant.
Honeywell representative Peter Dalpe says the company has asked the union to reinforce to leadership the importance of reaching a new agreement, upon learning that union leaders are planning a march in Metropolis eight days after scheduled bargaining.
United Steelworkers District 7 Director Mike Millsap says there’s no need to reinforce anything to local leadership, and they are committed to reaching an agreement that’s fair to their members.
United Steel Workers Local 7-669 represents 134 hourly workers at Honeywell.
