Beginning in January, midday flights will connect with Cape Girardeau Regional Airport in Missouri.

Barkley Regional Airport will offer an additional daily option to fly to Chicago beginning January 7.

Midday flights will connect with Cape Girardeau Regional Airport in Missouri.

Barkley Regional Director of Marketing Eddie Grant said he one-stop flights are now bookable through the United Airlines website. Grant said the round-trip flight offers a viable option for business travelers.

“Because a large portion of the business travelers in our region are business travelers, one of the things we always heard is that it doesn’t line up with their schedule, that they’d love to fly out of Paducah, but it doesn’t work with their schedule. By having this, there’s now three opportunities to get to Chicago,” Grant said.

Grant said United Airlines is still deciding the airfare for the new flights.

Direct flights from Paducah to Cape Girardeau will also be offered in the near future.

Grant said the fly time to Cape Girardeau is 20 minutes. Drive time is around an hour and a half from Paducah. Other flight times at Barkley will remain the same.

Here is a schedule including the new connecting flight starting January 7:
