Author and former Poet Laureate of Kentucky Crystal Wilkinson will talk about Art, Food and Culture as part of West Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Black History Month celebration.

Wilkinson will speak about her National Best-Selling book Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts: Stories and Recipes from Five Generations of Black Country Cooks. Part recipe collection, part memoir, Wilkinson says she wrote “these stories so that we never forget to sing the glorious praises of country, Black women and the kitchens they cooked in.”

Afterward she will be joined on stage by her husband, artist Ron Davis, as well as WKCTC Dean of Arts & Sciences, and poet Britton Shurley for a conversation about Art, Food and Culture.
