The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County invite you to join The Supper Club: Inspiring Cultural & Culinary Conversations, an open group that will explore the diversity and history of our community through food. The club is open to anyone who loves food, conversation, and learning about each other through commensality, which means together at the table.

The Supper Club’s next meeting will be Thursday, August 14 and will meet at the Pennyroyal Area Museum at 6pm. This month’s program features traditional summer favorites prepared by Margaret Prim. Prim, who serves as the Director of the Pennyroyal Arts Council and is a co-owner of The Crusty Pig, is widely known for her culinary and hosting talents.

Margaret will demonstrate dishes, and guests will have the opportunity to taste and experience the cuisine. Folks will take home a recipe and any unique ingredients required to cook the dish at home.

The cost to attend this delicious program will be $10.00 per person. Dates for upcoming Supper Club gatherings will be October 9 and December 11, 2025. All programs will be held at the Pennyroyal Area Museum at 6pm.

The Supper Club is designed to build community belonging. Sharing conversations over a meal is a great way to bring people together to share their culture, rituals, and traditions. With compassion at heart and a journey with history, our goal is to build a community that understands and promotes cross-cultural dialogue with our neighbors.

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County cultivates regional pride and tells our community’s authentic stories by creating an enjoyable, engaging learning environment that encourages conversations about our unique history and diverse heritage.
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is located at 217 East 9th Street in downtown Hopkinsville and includes the Pennyroyal Area Museum and the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum. General admission to the Museum is $5 with special rates for children, active duty military, and Museum Members. There is no admission fee for The Vault by Planters Bank gift shop. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. The Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum is currently closed due to structural damage from a storm in March 2023. For more information, call 270-887-4270 or visit museumsofhopkinsville.org.

You can get a one time partial credit on your electric bill. You must live in the purchase area. You can contact the Mayfield office for more information.

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS!! The Christian County Hopkinsville Library will be down at the Farmers Market this Thursday! Have your kids come down to customize their own pencil pouch and get some goodies (while supplies last) to start the school year off right!!

Find locally grown healthy produce, fresh-cut flowers, proteins, baked goods, bourbon & spirits, handcrafted items & more! Every Thursday from 4pm-7pm and now every 2nd Saturday from 9am-12pm starting in May!

Wanting to learn more about keeping safe online, identifying AI, a scammer, or just plain old spam? Join us on Thursday, August 14th at 4PM for a presentation on recognizing unsafe internet avenues.

Each Thursday evening, from 4:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., Breaking Bread Dinner Church will provide hot meals to go at the Aaron McNeil House in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Support for the program can be made through St. John's Methodist Church in Hopkinsville.

Food pantry hours aside from free weekly meals:

Monday and Tuesday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Wednesday: 9:00 am -12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Thursday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

If it is your first time visiting our Food Pantry, please bring Photo ID for all adults in the home and Social Security cards for all household members.

Join us for an evening of painting during out Adult Sip & Paint, 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at Hopkinsville-Christian Co. Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.

This program is for adults ages 21 and older. Alcohol may be served during the event. Registration is required.
