Common Ground: Poetry Workshop Series, invites participants to use poetry as a practice of reflection, meditation, and healing. Kennedy Williams, recent UT Martin graduate and journalist will be leading this program. Whether you write regularly or have never put pen to paper, this workshop is designed to use poetry a path toward greater presence and connection.

Progress in your skills throwing pots with Brian Scidmore of Cracked Up Pottery!
Participants MUST HAVE TAKEN LEVEL 1. Students will practice the skills from Level 1 but will focus on widening and creating flat bottoms to produce wider objects like trinket trays or plates.All materials (including 5 lbs of clay) are included.
Session 1:-review of basic techniques and tips and techniques for widening projects-wear “play clothes”-2 hours
Session 2:-glazing your piece-10-45 min-date will be set during session 1 but will usually be within a week of session 1
No-shows forfeit the class fee. Participants, that have a conflict and give 24-hour notice, can get a “rain check” for another class of the same or lesser value to be used within 30 days.

The library’s ESL program provides a welcoming and supportive environment where the participants improve their English skills through conversation, reading, writing, and listening activities. The program focuses on real-life communication, helping participants build confidence for everyday situations such as work, school, and community interactions. Open to all levels, it promotes lifelong learning, cultural exchange, and community connection.
Unfortunately will be having a limit of 20 persons per class.

MAG Photo group welcomes anyone interested, at any level of photography. The group is supportive in sharing exhibition opportunities, technical information and creative input. Meetings are organized around monthly challenges where participants are invited to drop one or two images, inspired by the challenge, into the linked album. Images are shared and discussed during the meetings. Join us for 2026 photo challenges!

Everything you always wanted to know about scrapbooking and paper crafting. Bring your photos, scissors, and your favorite adhesive. If you don't have scissors and adhesive, we will provide. Beginners and advanced scrapbookers welcome! Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Aug 20 Thursday
Sewing Class: Scrappy Totes, 3-6 p.m. Aug. 20 and 21. Using a combination of quilting and patchwork, participants will upcycle scrap fabric into unique tote bags. Materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own scrap fabric.
For ages 11 and older. Attendance both days is necessary to complete the project. Registration required.

This introductory class is meant for beginners with no experience and will teach you the basics of throwing on a wheel and glazing with a focus on centering and opening as you make a low-profile dish/bowl.All materials (including 5 lbs of clay) are included.
Session 1:-introduction to the wheel and tools, types of clay, centering your piece, and basic techniques-wear “play clothes”-2 hours
Session 2:-glazing your piece-10-45 min-date will be set during session 1 but will be within a week of session 1
3:30 – 5:30pm and/or 5:30-7:30pm class time (with additional clean-up time possible)
