From origami to paper dolls to model cars to mechanical toys with movable parts...scissors, glue, and paper are about all you need. Paper toys have been around for 1400 years, and we're keeping the tradition alive. There will be several patterns for participants to choose from and craft, as well as some take-home kits so you can keep the fun going. This is an "older kids only" event.
Epic Hour is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.Epic Hour is one hour of free programming scheduled for school-age youth. Kids are divided into the following groups: Kids Club: Kindergarten-3rd grade; and Be*Tweens and Teens: 4-12th grades.

Prime Time Family Reading is a six-week reading, discussion, and storytelling program held at public libraries, schools, or community centers across Kentucky. A humanities scholar and a storyteller act as session leaders to conduct weekly storytelling and discussion sessions based on award-winning children's picture books. Participants are elementary age children and the significant adults in their lives. Prime Time is a powerful tool to stimulate communication between children and parents, teaching them how to model storytelling and discussion in the home. The Calloway County Public Library is pleased to partner with with Calloway County School District Family Resource and Youth Centers to provide this literacy program. The program ismade possible through Grant Funds provided by the Kentucky Humanities Council and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.

Storytime is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St. Storytime has returned to the first floor of the library.

Yarn Club meets 5-6 p.m. Wednesdays at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.
This group is for crafters who enjoy all kinds of fiber arts such as knitting, crocheting, embroidery and cross stitch.
Please bring your own materials and projects. All ages are welcome. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
