It's time for Clay Date, a hands-on, spin-filled night where you'll hop on the pottery wheel and create your very own bowl. No experience? No worries—we’ll guide you step-by-step (or spin-by-spin)!

Everyone gets their own wheel, chooses a favorite glaze, and your clay creation will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup in a few weeks. Clay washes off, but the memories stick—so wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a little messy.

We can’t promise a masterpiece for the ages, but we can promise laughs, creativity, and one unforgettable night out!

Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.

Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

This dinner theatre experience begins with a delicious meal served in the Anne P. Baker Gallery, setting the stage for a night of entertainment, suspense, and fun.

Learn to throw! This 8-week beginner pottery class builds essential wheel-throwing skills. Perfect for new and seasoned beginners.

8 Weeks

Tuesdays. Class Dates: 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1

Instructor: Sara

It's true, throwing on the wheel is not as easy as it looks but with the right guidance, it can be incredibly rewarding. This 8-week class will focus on all the beginning techniques to center and form a successful pot on the wheel. Through group demos and individualized support, you will learn how to center, shape, trim, and glaze your pots. From mugs to bowls and possibly plates and tips on throwing taller and wider, you will learn the process of how to take a ball of clay and turn it into a functional piece of pottery from start to finish. Join studio potter Sara Ballek as she breaks down a thorough step-by-step approach to pottery making.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting on (it will wash out) and closed-toed shoes. For wheel work, skip jewelry, roll up your sleeves, tie long hair back, and keep nails trimmed for the best experience. Clay and all tools needed for the class are provided by Paducah School of Art and Design.

You’ve got projects you want to work on, and we’ve got the space for you to use!
-Tables to spread out as needed
-Climate controlled environment
-Can be quiet or chatty! Bring headphones to catch up on your favorite shows or listen to an audiobook.
-Most importantly — we have snacks. We’ve got all kinds of K-cups and cookies for an evening pick-me-up.
-Plus! Shehan and Mari-Alice are on hand to help as needed. Between the two of them, they have a reasonable amount of experience with crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, sewing, and a teeny tiny little bit of embroidery.
Yarn and Yap meets at 5 p.m. Thursdays at Hopkinsville-Christian Co. Public Library. They meet upstairs. Elevator access is available.
