An employee of Paducah's annual Barbecue on the River has allegedly stolen money from the organization and police are searching for his whereabouts.

The Barbecue on the River board said in a statement today that David Boggs "has stolen money" from the 2018 festival operating expenses. They said the alleged theft took place recently, over a short period of time and did not include charity funds.

49-year-old Boggs is wanted by the Paducah Police for questioning.

Police said he has not been seen since a friend reported him leaving his home Sunday morning.

According to Paducah Police, Boggs is 5-foot-5-inches, 130 pounds with graying hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a button-up shirt.

Anyone with information about Boggs's whereabouts is asked to call Paducah Police at 270-444-8550 or through the West Kentucky Crime Stoppers by texting WKY and the tip to 847411 - or through downloading the WKY Crime Stoppers mobile phone app.
