Kenny Imes Appointed As Calloway Co. Judge/Executive

Governor Matt Bevin has appointed Fifth District State Representative Kenny Imes as Calloway County Judge/Executive.

Imes, a Republican, will serve in his current appointment until December 31st. He has resigned from the General Assembly.

Imes is running for the judge/executive seat against Democrat James Gallimore, independent Bill Marcum and Vincent Costello of the Veterans Party of America.

He said in a release he's prepared to accept the responsibilities. "I look forward to working with and talking with the people of this county on a routine basis," he said.

Longtime Calloway County judge/executive Larry Elkins retired last week. Elkins began as a Democrat, switched to Independent and is now a Republican. He’s running for Fifth District State Representative and faces Democrat David Ramey.

This content has been edited to include a correction from Kenny Imes. He will serve as interim judge/executive until December 31st, not the November election.
