Early Voting In Tennessee Tops One Million

Early voting in Tennessee tops one million votes for the upcoming general election.

According to Secretary of State Tre Hargett, nearly 29 percent of the state turned out for the early voting period.

Middle Tennessee was the most active with roughly 31 percent voting.

Early voting has increased approximately 156 percent in Tennessee since 2014. In the same time period, voting doubled in Montgomery, Henry and Stewart counties.

Montgomery County is 10th in the number of early votes this year.

The early voting period began on October 17th and ends tomorrow (Thursday). Election day is Nov. 6.
