SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION / SBA.GOV

The Graves County Health Department announced its first confirmed COVID-19 case today.

The 70-year-old man is reportedly in isolation at a hospital. The press release did not specify which area hospital.

GCHD Director Noel Coplen said, “I know Graves Countians and our organizations will step up their game to do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect their fellow citizens from the harm this virus can cause.”

Coplen said the man “set a good example of how to be a good neighbor” by self isolating in the days leading up to receiving the positive test results which reduced infectious contact with others.

Rachel’s interest in journalism began early in life, reading newspapers while sitting in the laps of her grandparents. Those interactions ignited a thirst for language and stories, and she recalls getting caught more than once as a young girl hiding under the bed covers with a flashlight and book because she just couldn’t stop reading.
