From NPR: Much of the political focus when discussing the Bush-era tax cuts is on the wealthy, but they're not the only ones who would be affected if the tax cuts are allowed to expire at the end of this year.

From Kentucky: Police arrested a Murray man late last night after his mother was found dead in an apartment. The Council on Postsecondary Education says there's been some progresstoward reaching higher education goals. Kentucky State Police troopers will step up their annual marijuana eradication efforts this week, searching from helicopters and on the ground for hidden crops.

From Tennessee: A U.S. Department of the Interior report says the agency's activities in Tennessee contributed more than $2 billion to the state's economy last year. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam will begin a review of the state's college and university systems at his residence on today. State and local emergency officials in Tennessee are holding a drill this week to test their response to a catastrophic earthquake.
