Hickman-Fulton Ambulance Service Board Meets To Discuss Future Operations

METRO ATLANTA AMBULANCE SERVICE/MAAS911.COM

The Twin City Ambulance Service Board in Fulton County recently met to establish future operations when Tennova Healthcare ends it’s EMS contract in December.

The board- now doing business as KenTenn EMS- said the service will continue responding to 911 calls for immediate and mutual aid responses in its two 20-mile service areas that cover Hickman through South Fulton, Tennessee.

It will also continue inter-facility transfers and standby service for events. The area was under threat of being without an EMS service when Tennova announced the end of their contract in August.

In 2014, Community Health Systems announced that it would close Parkway Regional Hospital and its two Kentucky walk-in clinics. At the time, CHS announced that it would not cease its management of emergency medical services.

There are currently nine members on the board, including: David Gallagher, President; James Gray, Vice President; and Chief Mike Gunn, Secretary. Other members include John “Pete” Algee, Hugh Caldwell, South Fulton Mayor David Lamb, Fulton County Judge/Executive Jim Martin, Cubb Stokes and David Weatherly.

The board invites the community to discuss operational efforts and end of year goals in a series of three meetings next week. They will be held on September 26 in South Fulton City Hall at 4:30 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. at the Pontotoc Community Center in Fulton. The final meeting will be September 28 at the First United Methodist Church in Hickman at 6:30 P.M.
