Car Crashes Through Front Of Boone Cleaners In Murray

A car crashed through the front of a dry cleaner in Murray on Wednesday.

Boone Cleaners on 12th Street will fix the entrance and expects to open on Thursday. Murray Police said 67-year-old Pamela Cherry stated she thought she had applied the brakes while pulling into a parking space, but continued into the building.

Owner Tony Boone said he was at the main office downtown when he was notified by employees.

“They said, ‘Somebody just drove through the front door,’ and I said, ‘Yeah right.’ And then she goes, ‘No. No,’” Boone said. “I could tell by the tone of her voice that she was serious and she said, ‘Get out here quick.’”

Boone said since the business opened in 1931, “A lot of things have happened, but it’s the first time for drive-thru.” Boone’s operates another location on Main Street.

An employee was taken to the Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of possible minor injury.
