A Calloway County man was killed in a shooting with local law enforcement Saturday.

Kentucky State Police in a release said a Calloway County Sheriff's Office deputy and a Murray Police Department officer responded to a "suspicious person" in Dexter. 42-year-old John Hale of Almo, Kentucky, was shot and killed after an altercation with law enforcement. The officer and deputy were uninjured.

An autospy of Hale was conducted Sunday in Madisonville, with results of the autopsy pending. KSP said the names of the officer and deputy involved won't be released currently because of the ongoing investigation.

KSP is asking people with information about the shooting to call KSP Post 1 at 270-856-3721, or call anonymously at 1-800-222-5555. Tips can also be shared through the KSP App, available in most mobile app stores.
