KSP Charge Former Graves Co. Commonwealth Attorney For Misuse Of Public Funds

Kentucky State Police via Facebook

Kentucky State Police has charged former Graves County Commonwealth’s Attorney David Hargrove with misuse of funds.

In a release, KSP said current Graves County Commonwealth’s Attorney Richie Kemp requested  KSP to investigate allegations that Hargrove used public funds for personal expenses. Hargrove served as commonwealth attorney for decades until January of 2019.

Hargrove lost a Democratic primary election to Kemp in 2018. The release said KSP executed multiple subpoenas to get financial records about deposits and withdrawals from a specific forfeiture account. The investigation uncovered multiple charges from the forfeiture account in question for expenses not allowed.

Hargrove must appear before Franklin Circuit Court on January 31.
