PSO to Present Feature Film Concert Saturday, Made in America Concert Sunday

The Paris Post-Intelligencer

The Paducah Symphony Orchestra is providing a music-filled weekend with back to back concerts featuring famous film scores and American composed choral repertoire. Conductor, Raffaele Ponti, visited Sounds Good to discuss the upcoming events.

The Paducah Symphony Orchestra will be presenting An Evening of John Williams and Friends at 7:30 pm Saturday evening, February 17th, at the Carson Center. Maestro Ponti spoke with George Eldred of Sounds Good about the pieces that can be heard Saturday night, including scores by John Williams (Star Wars), Hans Zimmer (Gladiator), Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean), and more.
The PSO will also be presenting their annual Made in America concert this weekend on Sunday, February 18th, at 3:30 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church. The concert features choral works by American composers. For more information on An Evening of John Williams or the Made in America concert, visit the Paducah Symphony Orchestra website.

George Eldred has lived most of his life in Princeton, Kentucky except for a 15 year stint of studying music in Sewanee, Tennessee and Lawrence, Kansas and working in camera and photo finishing shops in the Washington, DC area. George first went on the air around the 4th grade when the local station in Princeton used to get elementary school students to read children's books from the library on the air.
