This weekend, Metropolis, Illinois hosts its annual Superman Celebration with activities for everyone. One of the events includes a benefit for the Massac Theatre, an art-deco movie theater and stage from the 1930s. On Sounds Good, Chad Lampe speaks with Lisa Gower about the restoration, the comedy show featuring Scott Long, the auction and a breakfast with superheroes.

Save the Massac has been working to buy the Massac Theatre for several years. They have one more payment before all proceeds then go to fixing and restoring the space. They hope to get to the point in construction where they can open it up to the community to fix it up.

Comedian Scott Long performs at the Baymont Theatre Saturday night. He has material specially prepared for the Superman Celebration. Tickets are $20, which includes admission to the auction. Doors open at 7 p.m. with performance at 7:30 p.m.
