Work is moving forward to clean up the building that collapsed in downtown Murray last weekend.
By this weekend, a contractor will shore up the north and remaining west walls and remove the building’s roof. Then, a structural engineer will assess the building’s condition and provide additional direction to the demolition contractor.
The contractor says it will take about 10 days to demolish and clean up the site after the engineer’s go-ahead.
Meanwhile the Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce and Murray Main Street will hold an informational meeting with affected business owners Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Robert O. Miller Conference Center.
