(Update) Police Arrest Hopkinsville Murder Suspect in Clarksville

Update: Police have arrested a Hopkinsville man in Clarksville wanted for his alleged involvement in a shooting death downtown Saturday. 

Members of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Drug and Violent Crime Strike Force, Hopkinsville Police and Clarksville Police Departments arrested 22-year-old Dorien Meullion at a home in Clarksville. Meullion is lodged in the Montgomery County Jail and awaits extradition back to Kentucky.

A Hopkinsville man is dead and the suspect remains unknown after a shooting incident Saturday afternoon.

According to a Hopkinsville Police Department news release, just before 2 p.m. 24-year-old Tarone Kiaire Williams was shot while outside of a Marathon gas station on East 9th and Campbell Streets.

After being shot, Williams left the parking lot and drove west bound before colliding into another vehicle a block away. When police arrived he was unresponsive and the coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

The shooting is under investigation. Anyone with information related to the shooting should call 270-890-1300 or Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers at 270-887-8477.
