Murray State Football Player Dismissed from Team Following Arrest

scout.com

Murray State University football player Zeke Pike has been dismissed from the team after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Pike was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop conducted by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office. In addition to resisting arrest, Pike allegedly broke free from the arresting deputy while in transport to Murray-Calloway County Hospital, but was quickly caught.

Coach Mitch Stewart told the Murray State News Pike’s dismissal from the team was for the 22-year-old quarterback’s own good.

Pike transferred to MSU after time at the University of Louisville and Auburn University. Pike is a former five-star recruit, at one time rated by Scout.com as the no. 1 player in Kentucky while playing at Dixie Heights High School.
