The reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Year is headed to the NBA Summer League where he will join up with his All-American former teammate.
Murray State guard Shaq Buchanan announced this weekend on social media that he will be playing for the Memphis Grizzlies. Buchanan will join the same team that selected OVC Player of the Year Ja Morant with the second pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday.
Buchanan is following a similar path set by former Murray State point guard Jonathan Stark.
Stark, who also won OVC Player of the Year honors, played with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2018 Summer League. Stark is currently playing with the Iowa Wolves, the Minnesota G-League affiliate.
