Murray State’s listener-supported public radio service WKMS partners with the Murray Shakespeare Festival for the third year to present “A Minute with Shakespeare,” brief one-minute recordings featuring the words of Shakespeare, to promote this year’s festival.  


WKMS New Media and Promotions Coordinator Matt Markgraf worked with the directors of the festival, Barbara Cobb and Rusty Jones from the English and Philosophy Department at Murray State, to coordinate the on-air promotion. Barbara and Rusty, along with Bill Phillips of Playhouse in the Park, Lilia Murray of MSU’s Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology, and WKMS Announcer/ MSU student Kevin Colbert voiced ten different “Shakespeare Minutes.” Starting January 16 and continuing through February 10 the recordings air on WKMS two times a day, at 7:19 a.m. and 4:19 p.m. and can be found at


From February 7 through February 11, The American Shakespeare Center On Tour from Staunton, Virginia, will come to Murray State's campus during their “Almost Blasphemy Tour” for two performances of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream and one performance of The Winter’s Tale. The Murray Shakespeare Festival will also feature several events including films, lectures, workshops and A Midsummer Flash Mob! Jenni holds a degree in Music Education from Murray State University and a Masters degree in Arts Administration from Florida State University's College of Music. She's equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm for fundraising and the arts. She also serves as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and on the Murray Independent School District Foundation for Excellence Board of Directors.
