Murray State University President Ron Patterson spoke at Wrather Hall on campus Thursday, delivering a “State of the University” address that highlighted the school’s recent accomplishments and gave an update on his first semester at the western Kentucky institution.

Ron Patterson just completed his first week at the reins of Racer Nation. Much of it, he said during an interview on Thursday, has been “a whirlwind” of activity centered on connecting with the campus community and getting acclimated to his new home.

Members of the Murray State community packed into a room at the CFSB Center alongside school faculty, staff and officials to welcome the western Kentucky university’s president-elect Ron K. Patterson to campus Thursday.

A new president will lead Murray State University into its next academic year.
