Louisville’s 100 percent clean energy resolution has died in committee and also lost its sponsor. The resolution introduced last September calls for city operations to become 100 percent clean energy by 2030, and the entire community by 2035.

The Kentucky Derby Museum has completed its largest expansion since opening in 1985.

Officials say they spent $6.5 million to add 11,000 square feet and renovate another section of the facility. Crews broke ground on the project at the historic Louisville racetrack in March. It officials opened to the public on Thursday. The highlight of the expansion is new exhibit space that features thoroughbred trainer D. Wayne Lukas and jockey Bill Shoemaker.

State and local officials, and members of Louisville’s interfaith community held a vigil at Metro Hall Wednesday to remember the victims of last week’s shootings at the Jeffersontown Kroger and a Pittsburgh synagogue.

Prosecutors say the alleged Kroger shooter, 51-year-old Gregory Bush, was indicted on two counts of murder by a Jefferson County grand jury on Wednesday. Bush also was indicted on one count of criminal attempted murder and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to the Associated Press.
