Schwartz's Works on Display at Murray State University

Peri Schwartz's father was a salesman.  His persistence and work ethic provided her with the outlook necessary to make it as an internationally-recognized artist.

"You have to be completely committed to it," Schwartz said in a recent interview on Sounds Good.  "You need a lot of grit."

Schwartz's works will be on display through February 26 at Murray State University's Mary Ed Mecoy Hall Gallery and Curris Center Gallery.  Admission to the exhibition is free, and Schwartz said it represents the full scope of her work as an artist.

"One of the things that’s special to me about this show is that there’s a range of all the different techniques that I’ve worked in, which is painting, printmaking, and drawing," she said. "It’s great to see it all together."

Schwartz said the exhibition originally was featured at the University of Mississippi at Oxford and has since made its way across the south.
