Crafts & Cocktails: Block Printing
Saturday, April 4, 2026

Location: Reelfoot Room
Join us for an evening of creativity at Discovery Park of America’s Crafts & Cocktails. This adults-only program offers a relaxed environment to explore a new artistic technique while enjoying cocktails and light refreshments.
During this session, guests will learn the art of block printing, a centuries-old technique that allows artists to carve and print their own designs. Participants will create unique prints while discovering the history and beauty behind this traditional craft. Beginners are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary.
Guests are also encouraged to visit Art Hall to view one of the beautiful quilts currently on display that features this historic printing technique.
You will discover:
The history and artistic tradition of block printing
How to carve and create your own print design
Techniques for transferring designs using carved blocks
How this technique has been used in textiles and decorative arts
A charcuterie board and cocktails will be provided.
This event is for adults ages 21 and older.
Tickets are $25 for non-members and $15 for Discovery Park members. Space is limited and advance registration is recommended.
Set over the course of a single day, La Cocina explores the inner workings of a Times Square restaurant at the turn of the 21st Century, where a stolen bag of cash complicates the secret romance between a Mexican line worker and an American waitress. This wildly inventive film is also a multilingual exploration of labor, language, and dreams—American or otherwise.
