Christian Co. Deputy Sheriff Under Investigation Has Resigned

CHRISTIANCOUNTYSO.COM

A Christian County Deputy Sheriff who had been suspended has submitted his resignation. Sheriff Livy Leavell Jr. said Thursday that Deputy Sheriff Steve Tucker has resigned.

Tucker had been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation and a criminal investigation by the Kentucky State Police.

Leavell said he accepted Tucker’s resignation on Wednesday.

KSP Drug Enforcement and Special Investigations Branch Sgt. Dean Patterson said the issue involves financial misconduct. He said the investigator is wrapping up the investigation and will provide information to the Christian County Commonwealth's Attorney office in the next week or two.

Tucker was suspended without pay last November. Leavell did not specify at the time what the allegations were, but said they were “very serious in nature.”

The KSP DESI Branch is handling the criminal investigation. The branch handles narcotics as well as public corruption and special interest investigations.
