Digital Media Murray State

The search for Murray State University’s next president is moving forward.

The school’s presidential search committee met for much of Monday and Tuesday. After interviewing nearly a dozen semifinalists for the job, the group recommended four finalists to the board of regents for the position Tuesday afternoon.

The finalists are Christian Hardigree, Diana Rogers-Adkinson, Chad Tindol and Ron Patterson.

Hardigree currently serves as the Regional Chancellor for the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus. Rogers-Atkinson is the Vice Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs and the Chief Academic Officer for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Tindol, at present, is the Chief Administrative Officer for the The University of Alabama and the University of Alabama System. Patterson is the current president of Chadron State College in Nebraska.

Finalists are expected to make campus visits in March or April. MSU aims to have the school's 15th president appointed and in place "prior to the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year."

Current MSU president Bob Jackson announced his retirement last fall. It becomes effective June 30.
