The Eiffel Tower Park in Paris, TN will start building a $1.3 million splash park in 2019.

A northwest Tennessee county is preparing to install a $1.3 million splash park.

Construction on a $1.3 million splash park at the Eiffel Tower Park in Paris is expected to begin in early 2019. Henry County was recently awarded $500,000 as a part of a $15 million dollar grant for parks and recreation projects in the state.

Paris Parks and Recreation Director Tony Lawrence said the county will add roughly $800,000 towards the project at Eiffel Tower Park.

He wants to make a “big statement” with this project and hopes to draw people from other communities to the city.

“There will be three separate sections for kids to play in the water, so they’ll have water that shoots out of the ground and then we’ll also have a miniature Eiffel Tower that you can slide down and then we’ll have the traditional buckets and spray features as well,” Lawrence said.

He said Henry County will receive the contract in December.
