A Crittenden County student is charged with terroristic threatening and was taken to a mental health center after threatening to kill a student.

Kentucky State Police say they responded to a call Thursday afternoon from the Marion Police Department following a threat of a school shooting made at Crittenden County Middle School.

Police say a student overheard a conversation between two students where one said he was going to kill everyone in the school.

The juvenile who made the threat admitted to police that if he was going to kill anyone it would be the other juvenile. He denied saying he was going to kill everyone.

The juvenile is charged with 3rd Degree Terroristic Threatening and was deemed a danger to themselves and others. He was taken to the Pennyroyal Center in Hopkinsville for a mental evaluation.
