S.G. Goodman (former front-person of The Savage Radley, winners of the 2016 Battle of the Bands and Live Lunch regulars) will join Tracy Ross in the studio this Friday, July 17th, to celebrate the release of her latest album, Old Time Feeling.
Raised in Western Kentucky on the Mississippi River Delta, in a strict church-going family, Goodman went from singing in church three times a week to becoming a politically active member of the Murray, Kentucky indie scene. She uses an impassioned and idiosyncratic voice to share personal tales of heartache, protest, estrangement, and reconciliation.
Her story, which has attracted the attention of Rolling Stone and NPR, has seen her challenge homophobic online stalkers, debunk rural stereotypes, and explore living with OCD and the notion that you can love your community even though you might disagree with them.
Old Time Feeling (released July 17th, 2020), Goodman's first record under her new stage name, was produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket and recorded at Louisville's iconic La La Land Studio. The album features long-time bandmates Matthew David Rowan and S. Knox Montgomery on guitar and drums, respectively.
