Continuing their winning streak, Joe and Kelly Craft partnered with Central Bank to buy the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s championship ham for a $10 million donation.

Thursday was the opening day for the 2025 Kentucky State Fair, and Kentuckians from across the state arrived to join the fun.

A Kuttawa deli market continued its legacy of success in the Kentucky State Fair last month, netting its 22nd grand champion ribbon in the country ham competition and having that ham fetch a record-breaking $10 million at a auction.

State politicians and candidates attended the breakfast, where a Kentucky country ham was sold for a record $10 million. The day before, protestors with the Fairness Campaign gathered for their last protest of the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s policies.

At the state fair, people showcase the best of their hometowns. This year, residents of flood and tornado-impacted communities joined in.

This was the twelfth-straight year the Kentucky Fairness Campaign and other LGBTQ rights groups protested the event, calling out the Farm Bureau for discriminatory policies in its handbook.

A country ham cured by Broadbent B&B Food Products was selected as the “grand champion” at Kentucky State Fair this year, marking the 21st time the company has received the award.

An initial investigation suggests a group caused the panic by setting off “noise-making devices,” which led fair-goers to believe shots had been fired.
