2022 Primary Election Voter Guide

LIGHTWISE, 123RF STOCK PHOTO

An interactive voter guide for WKMS listeners across western Kentucky. Find and click your county to see a list of races and candidates, along with links to profiles and campaign sites/social media pages.

Polls will open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Primary Election Day. You must vote at your assigned precinct on Election Day. If you vote by mail, your mail-in ballot must be received by your county clerk by 6 p.m.

By clicking on any of the highlighted counties, you'll be able to see a comprehensive list of candidates in primary races across the WKMS broadcast area with relevant campaign page and site links along with resources and race profiles from the WKMS newsroom.

Nested within each guide are several profiles of races and candidates. The WKMS newsroom has endeavored to profile most of the Kentucky state legislative candidates along with those seeking the office of judge-executive for their respective counties.

The listings are based off sample ballots from the Kentucky Secretary of State's office for the primary election. Some uncontested Democrats and Republicans are listed for state offices and judge-executive races, but unopposed candidates farther down the ballot than judge-executive are not listed. When we do a guide for the general election, all candidates will be included.

Primary Election Day is May 17.

Early in-person, excused absentee balloting is already underway at county clerks’ offices and is available until May 11. Those with valid reasons may go to their county clerks' office to fill out a ballot.

Early, in-person voting is available to anyone May 12-14. No excuse is needed to take advantage of early voting these three days in Kentucky. Any registered voter can attend and cast a ballot at a county voting site.
