Come to the Martin Area Farmers market with 35+ vendors on Saturdays. Customers have two chances to win one of our beautiful Farmers Market Vendor Harvest Baskets, generously filled with locally grown and handcrafted products donated from Martin Farmers Market vendors. Drawings will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Children and adults can earn free produce through our Market Mile and Power of Produce (PoP) Kids Club programs! Adults ages 18 and older can earn a $3 produce token by participating in the Market Mile and youth ages 0–18 can earn a $3 produce token by participating in this week's Kids PoP Club activity. Stop by the Market Manager booth for details and participation information.

Get ready for a morning packed with hands-on activities and outdoor competition! Here is a sneak peek at what we have lined up for everyone:

Giant Outdoor Games: Test your skills with giant Yardzee, giant Checkers, Cornhole, and a variety of other lawn games.

Metal Stamping Projects: Stop by the project station to create personalized metal stamped garden markers or custom rings to take home.

Home Depot Kid Building Kits: Let the little ones tap into their inner builder with hands-on, kid-friendly woodworking projects.

Farmer’s Market Basket: Be sure to get entered to take home a wonderful Farmer’s Market basket packed with local goods!

• Connect to mental health supports: Offer information on local counseling, crisis lines, and mental health programs

• Personalized guidance based on your specific needs
• Help navigating housing, healthcare, and benefit systems
• Support with forms, applications, and documentation
• Empowerment to build confidence and self-advocacy skills

Epic Hour is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.
Epic Hour is one hour of free programming scheduled for school-age youth. Kids are divided into the following groups: Kids Club: Kindergarten-3rd grade; and Be*Tweens and Teens: 4-12th grades.

Empty Bowls offers a simple meal of soups, breads and dessert offered in a handmade custom bowl provided through the efforts of the Murray Art Guild. Need Line partners with Murray Art Guild and the City Park to host the evening event on the deck of the Playhouse in the Park. Throughout the year, local residents gather at the Art Guild to fashion clay bowls which are then painted and fired by artisans at the Guild. Empty Bowl attendees receive not only a delicious meal but a bowl they can take home to enjoy. Many residents have built a collection of bowls over the years.
Need Line has been hosting Empty Bowls for several years.

Empty Bowls was originally started within the art community to provide a way to address food insecurity in a community and nationally began in 1990 in Michigan. Students at Murray State in the Home Economics and Art Department jointly held the first events in Murray. Later the Art Guild adopted the project which has grown into the current three-way partnership.

Empty Bowls Event takes place annually in on the Deck of the Playhouse in the Park. Tickets will go on sale a few weeks prior to the event. Any group or individuals that are interested in making bowls for the project should contact the Murray Art Guild.

The Downtown Farmers Market is the largest farmers market in the region, providing a location for farmers, crafter and artisan bakers to promote their products directly to the consumers at a reasonable price, save family farms and stimulate the local economy. During peak season (June-July) more than 60 vendors are set up down 5th & Maple Streets at this premiere Kentucky Proud certified market.

If you are in town on Saturday mornings (May-October), be sure to visit the court square to shop, socialize or walk through.
